Re: WIP: 1/20 Leyton House March 881
I suppose after nearly 9 years it's about time for an update...
I'm trying to mop up some long-time WIP's, hoping to finish this one for a modelshow this weekend, just need to finish off the wing endplates and suspension/wheels.

Only the 9 years eh. Ha ha. Looks great, c'mon and get this one finished. I've got the same kit in my stash, doubt it'll be done my 2026!
Re: WIP: 1/20 Leyton House March 881
Nice work I built the same kit a few months ago, really liked it but found even though it was from the Japan GP the accuracy was questionable. But in reality who really knows after almost 30 years it is still a great looking car. Thanks for sharing your build.

Woah, nine years!? Now I don't feel so bad about some of my kits.
She looks great with the wheels temporarily fitted! I can imagine it complete!
Cheers, Chris

Hi Jeff,
Nice work so far, but geez mate 9 years? Looks like you've got most of the hard work already done. I'd like to see the finished result sometime.
Enjoy the Expo if you are going.
Cheers, Paul

HAHAHA i just used you as an example seeing the good lady wife has been giving me grief about my last minute work to get one done prior to tonight. Great to see it back up Jeff and hope to see it over the weekend. Mine dates back 7.5 years. Keep it up and enjoy yet another pre Expo all nighter.

Re: WIP: 1/20 Leyton House March 881
... didn't quite make it for the show. Although it looks finished enough in the photo, there was a lot of shortcuts done, and bits missing (mirrors, rear light etc), Also the suspension and wings are very fragile for transport (partly due to using CA glue, I didn't have time for epoxy). Fortunately I can easily disassemble the model, take my time and fix up various mistakes and short-cuts.
Yes the model is inaccurate, check the severe backwards angle on the front pushrods and how far the wheels are away from the frontwing endplate, it shows the frontsuspension should be placed further forward. If I had realised earlier I might have fixed it, but won't worry about it now. However to be fair to S27, it does basically look like the 881, and will look good on the shelf.
