Model Car Mecca is again at the EagleQuest Golf at Coyote Creek facility at
7778 152nd St in Surrey BC, March 22, 2008.
The show is an automotive hobby show with a number of features:
300 models on display in our Western Regional Model Car Championship. The show
is judged by a panel of experienced model car builders and awards in 32
categories will be handed out to Western Canada's premier model car builders.
We also have competitors from Alberta, Washington State, Oregon and
California.
Goerge Doran will be on hand, turning aluminum model car parts real time on
his metal turning lathe. George can create incredible model car parts out of
aluminum and he will demonstrate this throughout the day at MCM08. he also
will perform a number of demonstrations that model car builders can learn from
to improve thier skill. The feature demo will be how George can create a model
car body and realistic damage by using thin aluminum sheet. His award winning
Dale Earnhardt wreck car will be on display so people can see the incredible
realism that can be accomplished with this skill.
Lego makes a debut in 2008 at Model Car Mecca. We have a lego car competition
for kids where they build a Lego car and can race it on a gravity track at the
show. Several adult Lego builders will have thier work on display and we
anticipate it will be a popular addition to the show.
There will be several Hot Wheels vendors at the show and we will have a Hot
Wheels activity play area for kids. There will be collectiblew Hot Wheels for
sale as well as less expensive Hot Wheels for kids to purchase and play with
on the tracks.
The interactivity continues with a slot car track presented by On Track
Hobbies. Show attendees can try out a variety of different slot cars on our
large track and then consult with representitives from On Track about thier
variety of slot car sets and cars. this is a perfect opportunity for attendies
to try out slot car racing and see if ti is something they would like to get
involved with.
The West Coast Sport Riders will have a pair of race bred sport atv's on
display at the show. These incredibly fast quads are impressive to see and
with the display set to showcase a 2006 Suzuki LTR450 and a 2007 Kawasaki
KFX450, show attendees will see the best of the breed of these race inspired,
high performance atv's. members will be on hand to answer questions about the
quads and how they can get involved with this great sport.
