is it just me or their new kits get sold out within a matter of a wk or 2? glad that things are selling out even if I miss an opportunity while debating to place an order or not. They will pump out more new kits

Interesting point. I should think that maybe they are focussing their interests towards other parts of the business and manufacture smaller runs than they used to?
That said, I keep reading about reissues in limited numbers of previous kits. I just remember buying a number of big 917s (what else, right?) as they were said to be out of stock only to see them being re-run literally a few weeks later. Not that it matters, I would have gotten them anyway, but maybe not in such a hurry, buying 3 in one month...

That aside, only after you have mentioned them selling out like hot cakes have I just now checked on that and also on the prices being called for the kits. And tbh I was quite surprised to see they have gone up quite a ways. I remember the '62 GTO selling for 88.000. And that one was justified by it being "THE" Ferrari, instant collector item, history, ... most other odd ball kits were less than that. Now seeing the Type D listed at 96.800 gave me a start. I'm fairly certain I did not pay that when it was released. It was less than the GTO. I think I have never seen a kit of theirs being sold >100.000 and looking now I see the C1 listed as 115.500!
And.. yet another revelation - on checking that I checked exchange rates at xe.com and realized that the yen has really tanked. The last time I was in Japan (2008) the yen to euro exchange rate was 168 yen = 1 euro. The last few years it had been hovering around 130, now it is back at 160! So overall the price here remains largely the same as before.

But wow have I been oblivious to things going on at the moment.

This technology is from an era I can replicate in scale. Plus there's just not that much there to detail. So one can possibly finish it, even when built to extreme levels. The back of a couple of gauges, little hose clamps, tube frames with simple wire harnesses/brake lines, and no pesky wire wheels to build. Five decades ago, I had a FAZA catalog. Al Consentino was the guy I believe. Had pics of all kinds of rare Abarth cars and parts. I'd rather this be a Lotus 23 or Fiat 1000tc, but this is a cool little car for sure. Cooler than the Caterham shape. I look forward to the kit photos.
