Not as far as I am aware.

Wow, I am so addicted to F1 of those years that I'll take whatever scale comes my way. I hope Meng will make a Williams or Lotus too, I have their 1/12 MP4/4 and I like it, it is well worth its price, so I am glad to spend on their new "toys".

The 1/24th scale GT40 is the only kit I have from Meng. I toyed with getting the 1/12 MP4/4, but I decided to hold out for the BeeMax/NuNu kit since I have the 99T from them. I'll definitely get the 1/24 MP4/4....I like the idea of something smaller than 1/20 without having to go to 1/43.

But from what I've seen, it seems like Meng prioritizes ease of build and generally accurate representation rather than true fidelity. That's not a bad thing overall, and if the 1/24 MP4/4 does a good job of representing the real car while being a joy to put together, I think we win the end.

Dont expect that to be the case once the kits hit your local stores... I've seen insane markups on the 12th scale kit.

I wish I lived in a land where "local stores" was a thing :(

Is anyone else getting tired of Meng doing subjects that have been done-to death? They have great kits - they need to start filling the gaps. And honestly I think 1/24 will go over like a turd in a punch bowl.

Well , I thought the same with other brands on other subjects, for example Meng doing a Fokker DR.I, admittedly drawn up by the masters of Wingnut Wings. Their kit has had some small issues, but overall it is a brilliant kit. I bought 3 of them despite already having a fair amount of Roden DR.I / F.Is which have been around forever and can be had at a fraction of the Meng kit. Plus even those cheap old kits can be build into beautiful models. Or take the Kotare Spitfire - another bloody Spit ffs - a model that has been done a billion times over. Yet it will sell and it is the take off point for Kotare (former Wingnut Wings).
If the kits coming out now, of cars or subjects already done by others before, I would at least hope they are better or add something that the previous kits don't have. For instance, I would not complain, if we were to get an accurate kit of the F40. That's like one of the few exceptions in the realm of cars. Other than that I'd prefer having "fresh" models. However, I can understand that a manufacturer might take the "safe" route by selecting a model that will likely sell well...
Cheers,
Roman
