Re: Ferrari F1 2001 1/12
Having eliminated the gaps between body and cowling by styrene strips and putty, I got some tension and new gaps after a dry fit with motor and cooling system. So I decided to a curbside model , because motor is simply detailed and cooling system does not reflect the original.
Both parts were glued together and temporarily fixed to the floor panel with screws. In this way I could adapt them by sanding.
The wide panel lines are filled by putty, sanded and new scribed.

Parts got a clear coat, decals and another clear coat, waiting for sanding to level the decals and a next clear coat.

Re: Ferrari F1 2001 1/12
Some progress in this car.
The rims are the same used in the 2000 F1 kit and are not usable. Tires are as well from the predecessor MG kit 2000 F1 and not in scale. For the 2000 F1 I used spare rims and tires from the Revell kit, but now there are only rims left , no tires. Will make some thoughts about the tire problem.

Very nice update! Seatbelts, heat shields and the wooden plank looking fantastic, like it
About the tire problem, maybe 3D printing should be an option

Re: Ferrari F1 2001 1/12
Kit tires are not correct in dimensions, shape and groves.
My first attempt was, to sand the profile down to slicks and reduce the width of the front tires.
turn new more narrow groves , and turn the shoulders more round.
The result was nice, especially with the cast new rims, but the tire diameter was a little bit too small and I din't use them. Finally I turned new ones, cast them in resin and painted them black. These are my first resin tires. Generally I don't like resin tires, but there was no other choice to get acceptable result.
