Tamiya polish in body panel seams
Hello! I am wondering if anyone has a "hack" for getting Tamiya polish out of body panel seams? That crap gets collected in there and I can't seem to get it out without scraping, which then takes paint with it. I tried a moist flat brush but that didn't help. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I use an old soft toothbrush and some water. The water will dissolve the polish a bit and helps in getting it out.

I use warm water and dish soap. A soft brush comes in handy for the recesses.

I always had the same problems with Tamiya Polish, and stopped using it. I switched to Novus 1-2-3 system, and it does not have the problem.

Tamiya has tiny Q-tips. One type is pointy and might work. https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/finishin ... on-swab-7/

What I wound up doing was taking a water bottle with the adjustable spray nozzle, putting it on the fine stream then blasting the excess polish away with the nozzle point blank to the seam. Pain in the butt. Most likely will replace all the water stains I had to polish out in the first place.

I put the body under running water, not hot nor cold, and use an old Testors paint brush to brush it out under the water.

Yup, me too. I find them to be pretty useful in other ways also. If the paint is lacquer then I dip them in a 50/50 mix of distilled water and 91% alcohol.Orso wrote: ↑Tue Dec 27, 2022 3:00 pm Tamiya has tiny Q-tips.
