Decal 1/20 Jordan 194, where to get???
Hi guys,
I am looking for some suggestions on where I might get decals for a Jordan 194, I don't think studio 27 ever did a set like they did some decal sets separately for conversion projects.
I did get a set of Jordan 194 from Pattos place a few years back, not good clarity at all and I just tried to use them but they are terrible to deal with, they absolutely refuse to soften at all, even with strong decal softener, so don't conform to curves, refuse to stick, in a word, 'useless' .
Is there somewhere else like Pattos that make decals that are good quality, I'm converting a Tamiya Jordan 191 to 194.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks.

I think Spot Model are offering a decal printing service, don't know
,much about it but might be worth looking into.

Maybe this is helpful for some upscaling in 1/20.

Please do check James, I have used your decals before as you might remember, (ATS D3, Lotus 79 conv), and they were great decals.

I actually have this kit, unfortunately the white parts of the kit decals are badly yellowed, I thought I'd use the kit as a reference for my conversion of the Tamiya 191, I might end up getting two 194 decals if possible to replace the resin kit decals also.Orso wrote: ↑Sat Nov 26, 2022 1:21 pm Here is a bit expensive way to get the decals: https://www.bluerace24.com/jordan-194-p ... -1-20.html

If only I knew Thomas how to realise those by upscaling, its beyond me...steinietrabi wrote: ↑Sat Nov 26, 2022 12:04 pm Maybe this is helpful for some upscaling in 1/20.

OK, let´s go with all the stuff.
Sorry not to step in before I was too busy fixing some wood plates at inimaginable places to stash up model boxes in a progressively more insane way
OK, let´s start with the bad news (in plural). Yes, there´s no smart way to scale up unless you have a good vectorial file. A bad image, even a good one, will lead us to a quite shittty result. No matter who prints it.
More bad news, though I seem to remember I had draught a good start for this sheet (I am interested in the car since 25 years ago) er... yes I lost the file.
Third bad news, that´s quite a really unpleasant decal set to make. It has literally TOOOOOOONNS!!!! of different logos.
Now... the good news.
Since I am really interested, this interest shown by other people could really trigger my creativeness and beat my natural laziness.
OK, Dede, let´s go for it! Thanks for the compliments my friend
I think I have a nice scan from some 4 years ago. It should be enough, so let's see if I feel capable of doing it this time.
AH! The fact decals are yellowed is not that bad: it might have to have a good scan where the white letters' shapes are clearly visible!
Stay tuned, I doubt there's any other possible source
BR
James
PS: I do remember clearly checking the Spa pole version, as I wanted to make that particular car...
