Re: Tamiya Williams FW11 1/20 Scale Mansell
Hi Donovan,
You have done a very beautiful FW11. You put a lot of effort to paint all the screw heads and this make the model looks way better.
I am not sure using carbon fiber decal would make the model look better. The early days chassis uses different carbon fiber and building techniques than today. I prefer the satin black treatment.
It was painful to watch the tyre failure on Mansell's car in Australia. It was heart breaking as I was watching it live on TV.

Very skillfull & shiny Build, welldone ! When I was a "young fool" I didn't know this Kit to be ( was ) so rare. So I went to build It. Now I wouldn't dare for the rarity .

Thanks CK, I agree with your opinion on carbon from this era of F1 at this scale.CK wrote: ↑Wed Nov 09, 2022 1:23 pm Hi Donovan,

Great built model. I received it with the transkit from STUDIO-27 a few days ago. The first thing I dealt with was the side panels on the front suspension. It's going to be hard to make nice but your approach looks very clean. I will also split the suspension to be able to sand it clean and paint it. One of my favorite cars at the time.

Great looking build!!
Re: Tamiya Williams FW11 1/20 Scale Mansell
It's an excellent build, and a great suspension solution, that made me remember something that I should have talked about in this forum a long time ago: I have designed a simple tool to connect the FW11 front suspension arms, based on a 3D scan of the model. I have uploaded it to my Shapeways shop if someone is still interested in it. I'm sorry, I had so much to do lately that I forgot that I made this... and also a similar solution for the B188. I could have spared a lot of work for you guys...
