MFH 1/12 FW11B British GP 1987

Post by Dede »

Nigel Mansell in a youtube interview some years back with Peter Windsor said "The FW11B was the most awsome F1 car ever built, in Qualifying you had upwards of 1500hp, wheel spin in 6th gear, it was a car that tried to kill you every corner, the most incredible race car I've ever driven".

The Kit:
I have built well over 100 kits and this is the Best kit I have ever built, it took quite a while! It was a challenge at times but got there in the end, these MFH 1/12 kits are expensive but overall I have to say this was worth it.
There are over 100 parts to the engine alone and I got the crank and pistons working (Never to be seen again)..
I had to contact MFH as a sheet of CF was missing, they promptly sent on the missing sheet.
It really is a masterpiece of engineering this kit, the machined and anodised wheels are a work of art.
Added a few nuts and bolts, wires etc that weren't with the kit, annoyingly the kit doesn't come with the Barclay decal under the number 5 (side of tub) so I had to track down a set.

An extreme great and clean build  . Really greatmodelling. Gratulations :D ! Seems one of the rare MFH kits where the engine cover fits without problems.

Fantastic! Thanks for posting.
I have one of these to build, where did you get the missing Barclay decal from?

That is a very fine build Dede. Most pictures it would be hard to tell if it was the real car vs. the kit - the job you've done is that fine.

Can you advise which CF decal sheet was missing? I have this kit and would like to check to see that my kit is okay or whether it's missing also.

Beautiful work man -
