F1 car with a crooked decal?
Hi,
An odd request.... does anyone possess a picture of an F1 car - a real car, not a model or diecast - that has a crooked decal or other marking on it?
Thanks,
Eric

Re: F1 car with a crooked decal?
I would think someone would be kicked off a team for carelessly putting a sponsor on the car. The only thing that comes to my mind is the sloppy "GILLES" that Ferrari put on Gilles' T2 at the end of '77.

I dont know if it counts. The Lotus 78 from Argentina 1977 when Lotus changed the #6 on Gunnar's car to a 5 for Andretti: https://www.motorsportimages.com/photos ... 1017351610
(compared with the original #5: https://www.motorsportimages.com/photos ... 1017351715 click on the pictures for larger pics)

Re: F1 car with a crooked decal?
I remember 3 events where something like this happened, but won't be able to look for pictures before monday:
In 1966 Brabham raced in one event with a crooked starting number.
During the Monaco GP 1984 the Discostar advertising on Bellofs frontwing did not stay in place throughout the race.
During practice for the 1988 Monaco GP de Cesaris Rial apeared with poorly fixed advertising on the chassis.

I seem to remember a sticker hanging off a Brabham in 1987, maybe Silverstone.

If you are lucky enough to owe the Autocourse 1982-1983 you can see on page 142 the winning Brabham BT50 of Nelson Piquet (Canada GP 1982). There is definitely something wrong with the tiredecal on the rearwing!

Re: F1 car with a crooked decal?
Not F1 but a funny situation.
Years ago I bought a Minichamps 1/43Ford Capri Jagermesteister. When arrived at home I went very angry because of the crooked race number at the right side
I took my time to correct the position of the decal to a perfect vertical position using Micro Liquid, a brush and a lot of patience and care.
A couple days after I found a picture of the real car in the net

Does the March 721X with upside down 'S' from STP count? Corrected, I presume, in time for the race.
