A summer job, the 1974 Brabham BT44, Tamiya 1/12

Basically it is an old kit of the BT44B martini that had yellowed decals, so having bought the new re-edition I decided to make it with a set of S27 decals of the 1974 version, when Carlos Reutemann (R.I.P) obtained his first victory..

Hope you like it !

One little curiosity: for the spray painting being an "Easy" job, I used the new TS-101 "Base white". It covers much more than the classic TS-26, I have not even given the gloss clear but a simple polishing with the compound (the cars of the time were not exactly "shiny" like the last ones, a painting too glossy would not be realistic) .

Happy with the result and very easy application: plastic-> sanding 600-> Tamiya fine gray primer> sanding 1000-> 2 coats of TS101, the first light the second more decisive-> polishing, in one day with this dry heat I did everything.

Nice job and nice subject. I always wondered what those decals were for. Agree 100% regarding TS-101. Way better than TS-26. Hard to tell in the photo, but are the rear wing endplates black or dark "Brabham" blue?

Thanks for the fast reply. I thought perhaps they might be TS-55. Thanks for clearing that up.
