Great model and great start!! I have all of these MFH 77 Loti. I love the look of this car but have to say I for the life of me don't understand what Chapman was thinking by putting all of the front suspension mechanicals out in the breeze. Seems he forgot about aerodynamics on this car!!!

I like the gloss black finish you achieved on the chassis, but I have to admit: Without the upper part in the front this car looks terrifyingly fragile.
Please keep the updates coming!

There was a charge against Chapman for manslaughter in the case of Jochen Rindt.
It was said the inboard brakes on the Lotus 72 where unsafe and Chapman was to blame for that design.
So Chapman had a problem in dropping the concept of inboard brakes: It could be seen as a confession by the press.
Even after the case was closed Chapman didn't wanted to convert the 72 to outboard brakes. Despite the Lotus 72 was struggling after Firestone with their special tires for Lotus withdrew from F1.
In that regard the Lotus 77 makes perfect sense: It could be used with either inboard or outboard brakes. They started the season with inboard brakes, switched over to outboard brakes and never went back. If someone asked they could say: "Look, we wanted to use inboard brakes, but we finally realised the car is handling better with outboard brakes. But we can assure you: Inboard brakes are safe!"
I could imagine without the charge for manslaughter the Lotus 77 would never have had inboard brakes.
