Re: 1/12 MFH Porsche 917 LH
Thanks for all your support!
@CK: that's a great tip! I will remember that.
More corrections today...
I'm now done with corrections -- have to draw the line somewhere! Tomorrow a final inspection in daylight, but I think everything is as good as I can get it without causing new problems. Next up is clear coating.

Hi Marcus,
Great to see you continuing with all these improvement tasks. I really admire your patience and hard work.
This is a very challenging paint and decal work indeed.

Couldn't agree more, and I'm glad that I left that behind now. Everything is now in clear coat.
Next up will be painting the insides of the body panels.

Re: 1/12 MFH Porsche 917 LH
Thanks again guys!
I said earlier that I had drawn the line, but I lied.
On close inspection the green decals on the rear cowling still had problems (how surprising... cracks everywhere, blue color shining through) so I decided to mask and paint them. Actually now almost all green is painted, except the front side parts of the rear cowling and around the CIBIE decals. Another thing I wanted to fix was the pointy decal completely at the back: the tip disappears behind the big green strip. This is an error in the shape of the decals imho.
So I guess this is where I really draw the line. Tomorrow I'll start working on the insides of the panels, as there will be no more spraying. Then some light sanding and polishing and ... final assembly maybe

Marcus, let me be the first to say exceptional save on this decal malarky. I wonder if there are some after market decals for this available?
I can only repeat what I have said before, this is amazing. In the end nobody cares that you repainted almost everything, the result stands for itself. Chapeau!

Re: 1/12 MFH Porsche 917 LH
Hi Marcus,
Congratulations on finishing your repair work. It was a very difficult job. The body now looks fantastic!
I always hate painting and decals. It is the most frustrating part of my model building process. I don't like to use large decals for colors on body work. Every time, it ends up I have to remove the screw up decals and do a paint job instead. Now, I always scan the decal sheets in color so that I can have a back up plan if I screw up the decal work.
