I can highly recomment to watch the whole video, but regarding this topic you can see that Pirelli had a similar approach on their tires. The embossing is "Pirelli P7", but only Pirelli is painted in white as can be seen at 1:02.

I remember seeing F1 on race tyres from 1990 onwards but only ever on show/presentation cars. I can't say for definite but I never saw evidence of a car racing with F1 on the tyres.
