This is coming along quite quickly James. I like the way all of the traditional skills and methods haven't been forgotten .
Its looking great so far... I hope you aren't going too quickly though and 'burn' yourself out - its a big project you have taken on.
Its going to look mega when its finished!!
Cheers
Tim

wow, a pleasure to follow this WIP!
Re: LIGIER JS19... 1/12 OSONS!! (let's dare!!!! )
Thanks again guys!
Yes Jeff I try to post as many pics as possible so it´s easy to follow.
Yes, Tim! too many times I have left the track but I suspect that rather the risk of getting burn out is the fact of arriving to the spot I had more doubts-interest on, rather than going too fast. In fact it seems it´s the fact of procrastinating as they say now, that kills it. There are quite a few that I look now and say "I remember the last day I spent sanding or whatever, if they had told me it was the last thing I was gonna do on it.."
So non stop!!

I can see them here.
Its great plastic surgery JamesB!
And you are correct, the procrastination is the worst. Once you roll up your sleeves and start working, its never too bad. Its looking at it, and imagining it that kills it.

Hmm... dont know what to say. Well in this page (4) there are no pics maybe it's that! they are hosted at postimages, sothere should be no problem.
Oh yes, that's it! it asks for more. One good thing is that I have a good plan A and sometimes B and C for every step.
BTW, this was one of my first F1 models. I have done two or three in the winter, then built a 126C2 body on a Burago 312T2 chassis (whaaaaaat???) and I was attacking my first all plastic scratch built models. Thin plastic sheet, Scalextric wheels and motor. Painted with handbrush, including logos. First was the FW08, then this one, which I loved since I saw the pics on the Monaco, then the Detroit issue of GPI.
It's been exactly 40 years from that it's a good way to celebrate, right?

6th chapter!
Let's go on!! Time for the engine cover.
I installed also the part over the fuel tank. You´ll see it in the pics.
First I cut out the back piece, to which I give the correct curvature according to the photos. After attaching it with tape, I cut out the two pieces on each side. I only glue them together, not to the whole car, because I want to be able to sand it more comfortably, detached from the car.
I glued the pieces and let them dry. So the sub-assembly is rigid enough to work with.
A little work with the X-acto, but we have to round it more. So I need to have material inside, so when I sand I won't find thin air!
So we pour resin...
And some violent sanding!!
I really like to use 2mm plastic, so I can get big radii, and not too sharp edges...
And the hole for admission. Not too inspired at first
But we save her in the end!
Well that's all!
Thanks for stopping by and looking and commenting.

Ah! the pics to make it look nic, with the whole car
BTW you can see I poured some resin on the junction of the parts I put yesterday on the rear tray. A good alternative to epoxy putty. Enjoy!

Hi James,
Great progress on your project! Everything look good.
It is nice to see the car taking shape in such a short period of time.
