Mike Quarterman

Post by F1tommy »

As some of you may have heard Mike Quarterman passed away yesterday afternoon in San Francisco California.

He was best know for his decal business called UMI but also wrote MRRN magazine for many years and also helped many companies develop model and decal lines.

A few of those companies were Revell/Monogram, Wave, Studio 27, Fisher models, Quick Skins, Scale Designs, Sakatsu and many others. He was also on this board.

Mike had a great run and changed his part of the world for the better. RIP Mike

Really sad news. Mike was a credit to the hobby and talented. A good guy to deal with too.

This is tough. I only got to really know Michael the last several years of his life, but I can't say enough about him - and yes, Indycals was another brand that he assisted with, having produced artwork for a few of my releases and it was an honor to assist him when he needed something I could help with. He was kind, generous and an all around great human being whom I look up to as a way to conduct oneself in business and in life. RIP Michael.
