Found the post on facebook showing the 3D printed Alfa Monza wheel. As you can see it looks amazing. This model was built by Jim Drew and the wheels designed by William David Cunningham. He is on the ACME group all the time and is also doing a full detail birdcage in 1/24th scale with printed wheels. Your wheels also look amazing but the extra work you are requiring to make them seems redundant. I think you should take a look at your design again.

Yes they look really good.

It’s horses for courses, I know my system is completely repeatable, I’ve printed large numbers to test repeatability. when I experimented with entirely printing the wheels I could get it to print most of the time, but the failure rate was quite high and they are still a lot more fragile than my system. Maybe a high failure rate is reflected in the $25 per wheel price?

The Alfa does have fairly slender spokes, I may well fully print future wheels with heavier spokes. As I say, horses for courses.

The thing I haven’t mentioned, is that it turns out my system is actually very enjoyable and incredibly satisfying to build - the words of my beta testers not me. :)

I think there is a place in the world for both approaches.

Regards

OK everyone, I’ve done a little research and added US to shipping, the terms of this may alter based on customs overhead TBD, but right now let’s give it a go!

Thanks for the kind words and support!

Inside track - the airfix 1/12th Bentley and the Italeri Fiat Mephistopheles will be my next wheel releases as well as generic metric bolts/studs in 1/12th.

If you want something specific, join the Facebook group - link in my website, and join in the poll!

I buy a lot of stuff internationally - with many orders going well into four figures, and I've never had to pay customs/import taxes here in the US.

It’s not that, we now require customs declarations and various other new admin nonsense since Brexit, so there is a potential for items to get stuck in the UK if this isn’t correct and comprehensive. That’s the overhead I was talking about.

Suck it and see, but there is a potential for delay.

The Honda exhausts were received today and they look amazing!
That's 2 weeks from purchase to delivery in Ohio USA.
Well done Nick!

The wheels look great! Do you know if the size of the wheels are the same as used on the Italeri Fiat 806 kit?
