Tamiya Tyrrell 003 Hammerhead Nose 1/12th
Tamiya Tyrrell 003 Hammerhead Nose 1/12th
Have chose this as my new build here on F1M.
I have always loved the aggressive lines, the in your face nose.
And of course, who does not like Jackie Stewart.
Cheers

Just started this one myself, looking forward to seeing yours!

Any photos of your build. I am trying to decide which driver to build. I have always been a big Stewart fan but, I am leaning toward his team mate Francois Cevert.
The thing I am unsure of is Cevert's ride had a different race mirror arrangement.
Any help about this would be greatly appreciated.

Well spent quite abit of time researching the web today.
Seems the kit as popped by Tamiya is chassis 003.
This was the chassis Stewart drove during the 1971 season.
And as in keeping w/o having to do a lot of changes, will go w/Stewart after all.
Cevert drove chassis 002. But a Cevert ride would have been nice. As most already know. This was a very promising French F1 driver struck down in his prime doing what he loved.

Welcome to the forum. Look forward to following your build. Stewart is a good choice but if the choice was based on crash helmet colours I'd go for Cevert. Please keep us updated on your progress...

You have always the chance to build the big nose Tyrrell representing the unique victory of Cevert at the Glen. I think the only significant modification will be the support of the mirrors

I'll be taking some soon for a WIP thread of my own. Have you seen British Racecar's entry on Jackie's 004? It's very similar to the 003, and the article has tons of great reference photos: http://www.britishracecar.com/JohnDimme ... ll-004.htmFiatphile wrote:Any photos of your build. Thanks, I have researched and this would be the version/race I would choose, Cevert @ the Glenn. And as you have suggested, mirror brackets, which would not be too difficult to fab, would be required to model this racer/driver.Joaquin wrote:You have always the chance to build the big nose Tyrrell representing the unique victory of Cevert at the Glen. Here is a good ref photo of said mirror brackets.
Is it me, are they black?
