MFH DBR9 1/24

Post by adamg1987 »

Picked this model because I figured it will be different from the normal. I've choosen this model because I've only ever touched plastic kits and I've been putting off doing a multimedia.

First shot of box contents before I start, it is the Dark Green livery but I plan to do the Gulf livery.

Nice to see people entering the GB. Will look in my stash and find something to build myself for this one.

It is a great kit and classic livery. I built it a couple of years ago and came out well. One of my few adventures away from 12th scale.
BTW I used Zero paints.

Made a start on the roll cage first time working with white metal I've soldered the cage it's a bit rough in places so I'll need to clean it up but seems to be pretty strong.

I know its a 2016 group build and we're now halfway through 2017 but i havent given up on the DBR9. Progress has been slow. The body is painted decaled and im slowly working on adding the C/F decals before semigloss 2k.

Also been working on the interior. Chassis is painted zero paints semigloss black and then the central part in sikver. Need to clean up overspray and apply C/F decals.
Image
Wheels are alclad gun metal - this is my second attempt at doing the decals first time the michelin decals reacted to the semigloss 2k this time i put a layer of 2k down before applying new decals. These are now just waiting semigloss 2k.

Dash and seat done need touching up and seatbelts next.
New diffuser scratchbuilt from copper sheet.
