good morning all

just a update i had some progress this last week as you know i redid the paint job and i think its better in metallic black (ts-40) this time around i painted the white on the motor cowl as well and i am very glad i did. i don't know if the decals are old or what but they where very brittle did not expect this from studio 27
i had to full the holes in the front wing and on the advice of a buddy decided to cut the wing post shorter and install copper pins and it worked perfectly. this week my plan is one thing CARBON everything lol

thanks for looking and enjoy

thanks werner

You say you painted the white. How did you achieve the feather edge? Looking really nice.

Hey worsone - from where in SA are you?! Welcome! Sorry, I only saw this thread now...

It's looking good - still want to do the Kimi in Japan version of this car - one of his best races ever!

Looking good in the pictures anyway. Keep at it. You have reminded me how good this car, and the MP4/19, looked. Might end up having a go at one myself.

thanks for the welcome guys, i was building models from about 12 years old. i did stop building for about 10 years building a life for the wife and kids move into the rc hobby for about 5 years and started building again now the last 3 mounts. when i stopped building model kits things like carbon fibre decals, alcad paints, zero paints and all these thing that makes your models more realistic was not available to me don't know if it was not in south Africa or if it did not existed but this is why i started building again and enjoying ever second of my return to this hobby and web sites like F1m is just the cherry on the top form me, love to see how other builders are doing things and it inspires me to do better on the next kit buy using the tips sheared

Up to this point a resin kit is not that bad was always to scared to build one due to the cost of a kit and did not want to bin one lol but its just like building a plastic kit but just a lot more prep work and some new tricks lol i dont know if i want to build one of the chrome
mclarens in resin yet lol you will have to sand the crap out of that kit to get the panels flat and in shape

Seabee i am in Gauteng stay in boksburg yes kimi did have a great race in japan however i do have a few kimi f1 cars and decided to make the mclaren mp4/20 and the williams fw24 the Montoya cars

Hello worsone,

Very nice, this really looks good for your first multi-media kit. Congratulations boet.

BTW, I've posted my build, don't give me any trouble if you finish before me, your car is 9 years younger than mine so it should build faster.

Martin.

Yeah well Boksburg is a bit wide for a quick braai! Keep at it, this is really looking good... Really does not look like a first attempt at a MM kit - thumbs up!
