Exactly, which is why we'll never see Kimi at RB. And it's not just about Kimi: would Dietrich Mateschitz ever tolerate another challenge within the team to his golden boy Vettel? No way. Webber has been a big enough headache already for these guys. What we'll see is a stooge just thankful to have a seat, one that knows their place (like Rubens and Felipe).Robban wrote:Kimi will never play

Shayne,
It's worth getting Foxtel. Two channels had 24 hour coverage for LeMans. I doubt free to air would touch any of the WEC races.
Have been a fan of WEC for years but momentum is building since last year. Now that CanAM and AMLS have merged and the potential of those cars crossing into WEC, it's an exciting time.
Now just need to get rid of Diesels (or at least put a hole in the exhaust!).
Back to Webber, is there a list of his models (kits. no diecasts) in 1/43, 1/24 and 1/20? Maybe start with 1/24 for his Air-Merc 1999 LeMans car.
I'll start:
1/43
2005 Williams FW27 - Silverline
2006 Williams FW28 - Silverline
2012 Red Bull RB8 - Tameo
1/24
2012 Red Bull RB8 - Revell
1999 Mercedes CLR LM - 1/24 Black Box Prototypes
1/20
2010 Red Bull RB6 - Tamiya

You can watch the championship streaming live on-line through the FIA WEC official website.Shunter wrote:Well i know myself and friends will now hope that we get to see the WEC races on free to air TV here.....It can only help the cause.
Re: *It is Now Official* Mark Webber to race for Porsche in
Mark is leaving F1 in the same way he entered. Quietly and as a gentleman. He is a good "wheel man" a phrase he respects and understands. He is not a politician or a "Gladys" ( an Australian term). Just a first class driver and more importantly a team player. That cannot be said for his supposed team mate or indeed the managers of the team . There will be speculation for some time regarding what has gone on at the "Thai Team". Yes that is a correct statement. It is fair to say that skulduggery has occurred but will never be proven. Through all this Mark has maintained a solid presence. He is a great driver and more importantly a good bloke. I wish him well at Porsche and in to the future.
Cheers,
John

You really mean it, regarding the team player thing? As all the other top guys (maybe with the exception of Massa) he thinks of himself first. I would not see him as a special team player.John wrote: Just a first class driver and more importantly a team player.

There are a few other, shall we say, "Tameo Inspired" RB kits. Various generic brand names, released under the radar.moongo580 wrote:Shayne,

BBR has released the '98 and '99 CLKs.
Also, in 1/24, you can build one of his CLK-GTRs with the Tamiya kit, using aftermarket decals, I think.
In 1/20, there are a couple of resin Jaguar kits. Wolf Models and Red 5, IIRC.
Je ne regrette rien.

Don't forget the DTM released Red Bulls in 1/20th as well as 1 or 2 "special" releases a couple years ago from MFH and S-27 when they opened the Barchetta store.MoFo wrote:There are a few other, shall we say, "Tameo Inspired" RB kits. Re: *It is Now Official* Mark Webber to race for Porsche in
There was a decal set released in the past allowing to convert Tamiya's FW24 into Webber's debut Minardi from 2002.
But it would be quite hard to find now.
I'm aware of following MM kits in 1/20:
- Jaguar R4 and R4M from 2003 by Wolf
- Jaguar R5 2004 from by RED5
- FW28 from 2006 by Studio27
- RB3 from 2007 by ? (Studio27)
- RB4 from 2008 by EJan
- RB5 from 2009 by EJan
- RB6 from 2010 by DTM
- RB7 from 2011 by DTM
But it would be quite hard to find now.

Thanks all for the excellent replies. Didn't know you could do the Minardi from the FW24 with just decals! Has anyone done one? I've actually found a set of those decals and I have an Fw24 in the stash.
