Re: WIP: 1/20 1993 Adelaide GP grid
WHAT a project! Brilliant! 1993 is probably my favourite season, the Cars just looked "right", almost perfect.
When I built my S27 FW15C I found the front suspension was WAY off, I had to separate the one piece front, lower wishbone into two halves
& mount them separately. The rear Suspension was even worse, I had to bend & contort the Wishbones onto some really bizarre, warped shapes
in order to get it fitted. Thankfully all of the contortions are within the Bodywork & cannot be seen.
The correct shade of Camel Yellow took about 3 years to find too (FW14B is too bright), anyway, my build is here, hope it helps.

Thanks guys,
KB78 - thanks for the tips, if I can get my FW15C to look half as good as yours I'll be very happy

Hello Jeff,
I read again all from the beginning, it is a very nice adventure, all your builds look perfect.
Thanks for the comment about the figure.
I’m impatient to see the JS 39.
Even the green house looks cool.
Cheers.

Re: WIP: 1/20 1993 Adelaide GP grid
Drilling out the air boxes is a really annoying task. Each time I have done it so far, it was complicated and time consuming.
But of course you are right. The result will look much better with the extra amount of work.

Re: WIP: 1/20 1993 Adelaide GP grid
SAUBER C12
Some final steps on the Sauber, which I wanted to complete in time for the Aussie Model Expo last weekend. Of course this meant staying up till 4am -5am on the two days prior to the show, but it did all come together very smoothly.
Rear wing assembled with epoxy glue; aligned with my nephew's old Lego blocks
Rear wing glued to the gearbox, again aligned with Lego
RE: Chinamalc's query about the wing-pins. I dry-fit the wing and the endplate, then cut off the excess pin-lengths with my sprue cutter. The remaining pin-stubs may need a little sanding to then be totally flush with the end-plate surface. The other advantage is that the little stubs are much stronger than before, and unlikely to break off during constant handling, dry-fitting etc. So from now on this will be one of the first things I do when I start a new build.
Ready for final assembly
The joy of modeling - my desk at 5am in the morning
The Sauber made it to Model Expo with 15 minutes to spare (albeit without windscreen, which I have since added). I will put some more completed pics in a separate post.

It came up looking very nice, seeing it in the flesh. Best part was seeing the red mirrors mounted
Jeff has also forgotten to mention, he picked up first place in the curbside category….well done.
