Help !!!! I need reference pics on Renault RE30 1981
Hello, I am crying for help !
I just begun my ACE model Renault F1 RE30 1981, version Grand Prix de France....and I have a souple of problems especially to understand the mounting of the rear wing.
Can any one help me and give me some good reference pics especially for this tricky part.
Did also anyone built the Renault RE30 of Ace yet. Pictures of the built model coue help to understand where soem photoetched parts are coming, as there is no mention in the instruction.
Many thanks in advance
Jacques

This is all I have. I think they may be of a 30B though. If all else failes you could always go for the last version pictured.

Yep, all of them 30B. Hey, last is incredible!! Seems an interim 82/83, right? Remarkable seeing Prost with #16
I have some stuff of this... anyway Jacques is now on holidays I guess. I hope we can prepare him a good surprise when he's back.
Anyway I think that the thing goes about the rera wing that is similar to the RE20 one.
Me, I prefer the CF one similar to ther RE30 one pictured.Nice shots BTW!!!Derek, got my email?

Jacques,
This is all all have..( No rear shots ) they are taken by myself in Belgium / Zolder where this car made his debut...( if I remember well...).Should have the same rearwing type as the French GP...
I am hoping to find some others..

OK, let's go!
Jacques will be delighted when he re opens the thread...
Well, this wing has not great mistery: it's exactly as the one on the RE20. So the Tamiya manual or whatever can be a good guide, since the ACE parts will somehow match the thing.
I supose you have to bond the four -so I think- WM parts of U shaped wing support/endplates and fit a pair of PE bits in the middle...
Anyway as I say it's very much RE20. In UK GP they changed to a different layout: wing as on the RE30, suports similar to JS11, Lotus81....
Here go the pics. one is from Spanish GP from Jarama, and wing is from a RE20 -quoted 26 though, they were mixing type and chassis number then- but a RE30 unit lays close and it's the same. The other pi is from French GP... shame the attachment point is not seen, but it has no logic that they might carryover a rear wing and develope a different attach system... for just 2 GP
