I have a question for you experienced resin car builders....
Is it possible to add your own engine into the Studio 27 kits ?
(ie. can it be done without major surgery ?)
I was thinking about getting the Revell BMW F.06 kit, and installing the engine from that into a Studio 27 F.08.
I know that the Revell is a 1/24 and the Studio is the "correct" 1/20th, but size difference on the engine alone is not so huge, and you can make some tricks by, say, raising and lengthening the engine to make it look bigger.
Currently building:
Alfa Romeo 159 (since 2021) Recently finished:
Renault R30 (since 2010)
there it is !!! cool !
I hope they will help for the paint part like providing blue decal or guides or else( the W28 was painful to do and they put the white area as decals in FW30)
TO put an engine in a ST27, good luck. There's the engine cover in plain resin to cut (even if the body isn't 100% plain, still it's thick) so lot of scratchbuilding for the ST27 part and same for the revell engine which are quite basic. If you got time and courage, why not ?
try http://www.icarohobbies.com/ but you have to mail him, seems the website is pretty empty, but he will get everything for you at a great price.
I delat with him a few times before and it was great service...
