It's an interesting comparison, especially with the inversion in car sizes with the 2022 F1 regs, with F1 cars now being slightly bigger and heavier than IndyCars, when historically the opposite was always true.

I remember during the CART days, IndyCars weighed 1550 lbs, versus 950 lbs for F1 cars during the late 80's early 90's. Now, IndyCars looks downright tiny compared to F1 cars.

I suppose the major benefit of making IndyCar kits of the current era is that it's a single chassis series, so pumping out variants is as easy as getting the licensing and putting a new set of decals in the box.

I just started my Ganassi car, it is the Takuma Sato Deloitte car from 2023.

Perhaps I should start a build thread here? I have been missing in action for quite some time, and now the heat and constant humidity is driving me indoors for the summer evenings....

At first look, I love the subject, however it is a model kit - and we know that a lot of them that are not Tamiya need a lot of adjusting to get them to look correct. And at first look, there are positives and negatives. I have started the tub, and that built up in 5 pieces pretty easy but needed some sanding and filing to get things to align. And the first part was labelled wrong with a Left and Right mix up for the fuel filler on the left side....kind of a bad intro I would say. But it is glued up and at least started....

The decals scare me a bit as I have no clue when I am supposed to introduce them in the process....hmmmmm.

There's a good build video of Sato's car at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Igm-ghhTjNs I'm not sure there is a specific part that covers only the decals.
