So it would be better to use aftermarket decals.

I mean, most of the decals here go on flat areas so it's not that bad, but the white stripe breaks around the corners and I'd suggest to cut the decals on the sidepods before applying.

Yeah, I did this e.g. with the Brabham BT18, though I use small rivets for this, but here I wasn't quite sure, I could do it without breaking something...

So You've painted Sidepod Channels red under the Cowling

It's more a reddish brown or very dark orange; most pictures of the original I saw had the whole part black, I only found 1 picture where they were orange, but IMHO less bright than you can often see on models or die casts.
