Ordering from UK into EU

Post by vrba »

Has anyone made order from e.g. Grand Prix Models to Germany after Brexit?
If yes, could you tell me what's the situation with import duties and taxes?
Thank you in advance!

Do not know exactly about GP Models but I think it schould be the same like all other imports from UK.
It's the same like buying outside of the EU.

I copy this, common math on orders from outside EU is:
Item price + postage costs and on top of this total 19% import tax. Be award that if you buy a 5€ item plus 3€ postage costs for example, the minimum tax is about 8 or 9€!
Take a stand!

...and add to that around 5-8€ DHL will add for handling the customs stuff.
For that they will bring it to your door and collect the fees :-)

When I order from the EU in to the UK the following applies:-
Under £135 - the VAT is paid locally and the item is not subject to additional UK VAT.
Over £135 - the EU vendor removes VAT from the item and I pay it in the UK along with a customs handling fee (normally about 4%).

The cost includes the item and postage.
Logic would suggest it is the same going the other way, but who knows!

Arrived!
31.10 EUR model + shipping
11.71 EUR paid to Mr. postman for whatever import duties and taxes.
Still good because I bought one of the heavily discounted items!
