Re: Look for Meng McLaren MP4/4 in the wild
I am fine with the kit. I had the pleasure to see Senna win in Canada and Detroit with the MP4/4. Great car. Better than the F2004 & RB19.
I read there is a need to "thin" some parts of the kit. What parts are we referring too?

if you look at Erics you will see the thickness for floor diffuser etc , but really not that hard to fix , just time .
I think it will make a great model... it will be interesting what other parts will come on market for this kit !

Re: Look for Meng McLaren MP4/4 in the wild
I have been working on mine for a couple of weeks, skipping about and having a time of it.
I really don't have much to say that hasn't been said other than the Carbon fiber decals. They fit well for the most part but C F of this ers was rough. It had a "pebbly" texture to it.You could barely make out in strands in the finish except maybe on the inside which was mostly smooth. The decals are smoother than a baby's butt.
As to the brown coloration a little of Tamiya smoke will tone that down.
About the complaints about the tires not having any sidewall detail.MFH got away without the same for years.
This being Mengs first F-1 kit I am pleased over all, especially with the subject.
I most likely would purchase Meng's next F-1 if ever they decide to do one.

The Fat Frog models MP4/4 brake set is now available at Hobbyeasy, I’ve ordered two and they look fantastic. Only around £20 plus shipping each.
I already received the radiator sets and they are very nice too.

I have the brakes and radiator sets on order but I asked that they not ship until the Lotus 99-T that I have on order is released.
Did I make a mistake????? :>)

These sets are great value for money, the wrong subject for this thread but I ordered the 99t radiator set as well. I hope they keep these sets coming, they are awesome!

I´m realy looking forward to what Beemax will come up with, the cooperation with Top Studio should be realy impressing, but when will it show up finaly??
Same to 99T, obviously they seem to have some kind of trouble to release 2 kits, i hope it will be for good.
