Re: What is your latest model purchase
I got these two in the last while.
Expensive, but I have to admit, very impressive.
Both models are 3D printed. Though it has a few rough edges, the NewScratch model is quite well made, and is using the new technology to great effect (like the rear wing and the very complicated wheel deflectors being in one piece) and does include all the necessary goodies.
The Synapse model, however is a piece of art. The resin is much better, much finer printing and better details, and does not have the problems of the NewScratch model, where a few pieces are too thick to be realistic.
While the NewScratch model will need a coat of Mr.Surfacer and sanding to remove the various 3D artefacts and removal of a few facets, the Synapse model will have to be primed with an airbrush (as opposed to a rattle can) to keep the fine detail.
I had my reservations about these new kits due to their price, but in honesty, they are much better than for instance the Studio 27 kits of old and with inflation being the way it is, the price is in the end somewhat understandable and the work put into these is much higher. For one thing; THE PARTS FIT. Take that Studio 27. And take my frustrations with you.
