How do I build the P34

I'm thinking of getting another of the Tamiya 1/20 Tyrrell P34 kits. Even though it is the 1977 version in the box I think it has all parts left to build the 1976 version.
Is there anything needed to change to build the winning car from the 1976 Swedish GP?

You can compare the instrustions between the 1976 and 1977 kit to see if any parts are different or missing for the 1976 version.

Don't follow the instructions in mounting the front suspension.
A better way is to attach the wheels to the suspension, and only then attach the whole suspension assemblies to the chassis. Let the glue model rest on a flat plane (like a desk)
This ensures that all the wheels touch the ground

If I remember correctly the Monaco '77 Kit has two rear roll-bars, two "seats", two cockpit cowlings and two kinds of rear wing endplates etc. Only missing Decals '76.

That is what I remembered from the two kits. What I am after is if there is anything that need to be changed fora Swedish GP car compared what is in the box?
I don't know what race the kit depicts. I know that the latest issue of the 1976 model had parts for the Japan GP but that is clearly different to what I'm looking for.

The instructions that I pointed in the link is from the original release (kit no. 20001). By quickly looking at the drawings in the instructions, the kit is very close to the Swedish winning version. In this kit, the only thing that is for the Japanese GP is the decal.

In the later Japanese version kit (no.20058), different rear wing and wing mount and air filter over engine intake are provided. It is quite different from the original 20001 kit. Instruction for kit 20058 can be found here.

I think that there is only minor modifications needed. Looking at pictures from the Swedish GP I can see some air intakes on the cockpit cowling that need to be added .

As you can see, and as the others have said, the parts in the 1977 versions allow you to build the 1976 version out of the box. You just need decals from indycals or other place.
