Could it be that those are some simple form of fasteners like the Dzus we saw on other cars, like the hood scoop on the GT40s of the time?

Other than that, I'm grabbing a cold one and enjoying the beginning of yet another masterpiece in the making. And it somehow feels wrong to write "yet another", but I'm confident it will be a masterpiece, the last in a long line of masterpieces, so... :)
Interesting thing on the colour, Pascal. How do you decide which base layers to use for a paintjob? I think I remember seeing a red on yellow on grey paint progression with another Ferrari model from you. I seem to remember I inundated you with questions about tools, colours, etc. back then (Gravity colours, I believe - at least back then).
This will go into the reference folder as well - However, I "only" have the Tamiya 312B :)
Cheers,
Roman

Good evening,

THANKS!
I love yellow and/or pink undercoat for red.
I often mix few drops of the final color with the primer.

I didn't like that much to have the white circles clear coated: too shiny for them.
It was fun to do though...
… and to undo!

Once again pink undercoat over the sanded areas.

Then Rosso Corsa.

Do and undo…🙄

Although used to Gravity products since their creation, I am always amazed by the grip and the solidity of the paint and the primer, not to mention how so thin they are: a joy!

The clear coat should be on soon.

Good evening,

Ok. So now the clear coat is done: it dries quietly in the boxes.

Good evening,

Thank you Mates.

@woodgp: it’s very easy as the rivet holes are engraved.

As expected, the holes for the rivets to be set are « re-opened » due to the several coats of primer, paint and clear coat and a soft cloth is passed over to erase fingerprints.

I'll maybe start the decals of the "Bombinette" tomorrow.

Buongiorno a tutti,

It’s the return for the 312B…
You still have to get back to it one day!
Deco day: decals are applied to the hull and muzzle.

Image

Image

Image

The upper part will be decorated after cutting the windshield which will require some tests and manipulations.
The hull will also be extensively handled, but the delicate adjustments have already been made.
It will also be very heavy once the main elements are installed; decorating it at the end would not have been wise or comfortable.

More soon!

Very nice Pascal, but the shell badge on the front is bleeding trough, the underneeth starting number circle is shining through.
Otherwise everything else looks fine.
Take a stand!
