Thanks for the links.
He is so fortunate it could have been far far worse. I think the halo saved him and allowed him to be conscious so he could extricate himself.

Its amazing to think that he walked out of that, relatively unharmed.
The car looks like something something very very bad happened in, and for sure I think we have seen crashes in the old days that involved much less damaged cars and lot worse results.
