Yeah, I really must finish it, then you will get your wish, but it got overtaken by the new and shiny syndrome - several times.......!
You may have done the right thing, the ACE model is a challenging build!

It's nice. I wish Tamiya would take more subtle upgrades to the kit. Such, as metal for the rear wing stay. Or, upgrade the suspension bits

I hope MFH/E-Jan can re-release the 1978 Transkit for this car.

Well well, THE Tamiya is re-releasing 1/20 Martini Porsche 935 in not so distant future. Here in F-land a Modelling webshop is selling that as second hand Kit ( earlier release ) for 95 Eur. Somebody buys or not, who knows  .

I would much rather they re-released the 1/24 Martini Porsche. On the other hand, maybe they got scared off by the (supposed) NuNu release.

Hasegawa is also re-releasing their 1/20 Lotus 79 with detail parts again.

Obviously, it is not a new kit, but one can be hopeful for the future if the demand for F1 kits in 1/20 continues :)

Lotus and Tyrrell - well, more specifically classic team lotus, and tyrrell promotions, continue to support modellers via fair licenses.
McLaren appear to run third.

Its also now well established that the right to royalties on a design expires after 25 years. Pre 1998 should be open season. I would guess that any model company wanting to keep an option open to make current cars (road or track) would be reluctant to test the friendship.

All that says the hase 312Ts have to be a possibility for reissue at some point. Wonderful kits.

Has anyone mentioned Italeri releasing the Mclaren MP4/2 in 1:12, and I missed it? June availability, pre-order now. I doubt they would correct any of the issues from the original, and who knows when it might actually be available. I have an original from back in the day about 90% finished. When it came time to put the wheels and tires on I lost interest. This should stir up the aftermarket biz for this.

Is that so? Didn't Boeing fight about the B-17 use. Or perhaps it is differnt with names than designs?
