What would you do?

Post by Deegee13 »

I used Eduard seat harness set, which is pre-painted photo etched, and the metal was quite stiff and now one of the harness straps, on both seats, has pinged up and even pulled some of the black paint away from the seat.

I had to add a lot of superglue between the bodyshell and chassis as it was a poor fit, and so cannot take it apart to carry out a repair.
It's seriously bugging me what to do.

As I see it my options are:

1. Leave it as it is.
2. Spend many hours and lots of de-bonder to get the bodyshell off (which might not work).
3. Use tinting film and cut pieces to shape for the side windows so the belts cannot be seen (but a lot of work went into the dash so that would also not be able to be seen).
4. Somehow cut both side windows out to effect a repair, but I am worried about making a mess of it.

Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Well, no suggestions after the fact. It just looks like this time you are screwed. Remember, there are no mistakes, only lessons. The lessons will continue until they are learned.

What about:
1. Drill a hole in the floor board in front of the seat
2. Run a wire/paper clip with super glue on it through the hole and apply to seat belt.
3. Run a different wire/paper clip with some accelerant on it through the hole and pressing down on the seat belt.
4. Fill and paint the hole in the floorboard.

Many thanks, clever idea.

I will think about this but I am not sure I have got a steady enough hand to do it.
