Thanks for the tip and the heads up James, it’s too late I have stuck the wings together and decals are already going on I appreciate the tip however.JamesB wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 4:21 am It´ll be great, Shayne. I have some suggestions...
the small plate where the flap of front wing can swing on, is faked in the kit as plastic protruding a hole in the red plastic. I suggest putting a real thin plate (even if a tad bigger) so it really overlaps the nose cone surface.
Then I´d also replace the front and rear wing endplates. Protar´s parts are quite thick.
Also be sure to check that overall wings widths are 41.6 62.5 mm respectively, makes not always respect the FIA rule book!

Re: Protar Ferrari 156/85
My final bit on this prior to returning to work. Most of the decals are on, the red driver markings did not want to settle down, the hairdryer and some Microsol sorted it out. Decals have been great and I would recommend them.
Engine is next and then the run to completion.

Thank you Franck, I know you have a helmet that would suit, would you know if there were any decals to do Johansson’s design?GF-F1 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 4:45 am Hello Shaine,

May be you can just draw and print the leaf, the rest can be found to some other driver decals.
Cheers.

Re: Protar Ferrari 156/85
G'day Shayne,
Nice little project you have here. The resurrection is looking great so far. I have done a couple of these Protar kits before and they do come up OK and look good on the shelf. Love them or hate them, at the time, the subjects they modelled just weren't really available anywhere else.
I had the 1/12 Ferrari 312B3 (I think it was that one, complete with rub on letraset style decals), and became so frustrated with it that I swapped it for an original Tamiya 1/20 M23 (long before it was re-released)...and yeah I do kinda regret that now
Glad you gave it another chance and it hasn't ended up in the junk box.
Cheers. Tim
