I also have two of Christian's BMW M1 Procar kits and they're really well done. When you think of how much thought has to go into the design of the master, the internal body core plug (to get the right wall thicknesses), the mold drafts to ensure not getting the casting trapped, and the details to make it easier for the builder, they are very much worth the price that he charges. Not to mention he does most of the flash trimming and body rough prep for us before he ships the kits.

Thumbs up from me.

Very good looking printed parts.
Many fine details are still there.Much better than i expected for that price.

Ok the frames are very much out of shape. But i still can use it as a template.
But the brake discs are awesome and the gearbox too.

The 917/10 parts look good! I’d like to have one in white and blue livery driven by Leo Kinnunen in 1973...

Christian,

that looks very tempting! I wonder if it would make sense trying to have them print body panels, too. Just having a glance (not! watching the tutorials just yet) it would seem that you upload your file and they print it. Do they add the support structure themselves or would you have to send them the file you would send to your own printer (with the supports in place)?

Either way, looks good and I'd be curious to know ballpark figures - especially compared to other well know sites. Of course it all depends on the print quality, material, etc. The fan shrouds look to be warped or torn, the frames seem ok-ish from the photos, but then again they may not be if you say so :). I'm thinking a service like this - if the detail and surface quality is (sufficiently) good might be worth trying for parts that won't fit the build envelope of my printer.

/Edit
That aside I would have thought you would build the frame from styrene rods or even brass or something ;)
Cheers,
Roman

Hi Roman, yeah they are worth a try. That's what I thought when I stumbled across the site one day.
You only upload the stl file. No support or other stuff. Only the stl file is needed.
Choose your material and maybe your finish option.
That's all.
Than you see the overall price including shipping from different companies.
Choose the one you want and that's it.
I ordered on May the 31 and received it yesterday.
Chinese manufacturer at its best.
They told me before the print, after they analyse the files, that 2 parts are very thin and over got a fail texture.
I could choose if they should repair it or cancel it.
Great service.

Now I found out that they forgot to print a complete set of tires and one out of shape frame. I wrote a mail and the service manager told me that the missing parts and the bent frame will print again.
Perfect service.

Of course it would be possible to print a complete body or the whole car. Maybe I will try this in the future.

Next update on Capri.

Image

The dashboard and parts of the cage are made.
The cage only made a few problems in terms of impressions. After a night of thinking about it, I found the negative form with which I can take it.

Image

I'm just going to make the two sides in resin, you can just make crossbars out of round tubes.

So the kit is now ready.
I created all the silicone molds and added a few small parts that weren't planned yet.
But was so "in the flow" that something was added.

Here is an overview of all parts included in the kit:

The roll cage consists of only two side parts, the cross braces can be easily added by the inclined buyer himself from plastic tubes.
I made a few small parts for the trunk, but to fill it properly you have to scratch a few parts yourself.
Then there were pedals and I "bent" two coolers in front of the rear wheels.
I also made an exhaust.
Unfortunately, the dashboard was not quite as hoped. I took the original ferrules and it looked really good. Unfortunately, these sleeves are so thin that they cannot be molded properly. Too bad!
Either drill holes or install them with ferrules.

That's it for now.
Now I have to see if everything fits so far.

Oh yes, there should also be a motor kit with gearbox, but I'm honest, I have already announced this with other buildings and did not pull through in the end.
After such a long construction period, you will be happy to have everything ready at some point and the motivation to make more shapes has dropped significantly.
