Tamiya Tom's SC430

Post by f1fan »

Hello everyone, Thought I would share another one of my recent builds. I bought this kit when it was released in 2007 and it was on the shelf for 10 years. I finally got to it a few years ago and finished it. I added carbon fiber decals everywhere and used the Studio27 photo-etch set. I painted it with TS76 and TS49 as per the instructions. Most of the red is decals. The kit decals are superb from Cartograf. I used PPG 2 part clear over the main stripes. All other decals are over the clear like the real car. Thanks for looking, Jere

It looks very nice. It must be a lot of decal work.

It will be better if the photos are a bit bigger.

Really nice job indeed, so nice that inspired me to buy one plus St-27 PE last night myself. Almost forgot this little lovely kit over the years and just realized that I never touched one..... Thanks, Jere.

PS: I noticed the 3 decals at the left door (rear and lower section) were not cut and fit over the door panel line. To be more exactly, I mean the "A" letter of the "INTERFACE" decal, and the upper orange strip and lower piece. All the rest decals over the panel lines looks neatly cut and fit. May this two spots were leftover? A nice piece indeed, no doubt about it.

Just my personal opinion to mention something I noticed, so we can improve altogether, true and constructive comments are equally good, just my 2 cents.

Danibear,
Good eye. Yes I missed cutting a few spots.😬
Something to improve for sure. I’m still pretty happy with the way it turned out.
Thanks for looking and I’m glad I inspired you to buy one as well.
