Question on Porsche 935 been bugging me for years

Post by alesi27 »

Question for the group. In the 70s Matchbox released 2 versions of the Porsche 935 model kit in 1/32 scale. One was Martini the other was Liqui Moly decals. Does anyone know if these cars raced at Le Mans or what races do they represent?
Thanks all, Roy

I'm not 100% sure about the exact configuration but it look like the LM livery was driven in several races in the DRM, but the car looks like a different 935 version

The Martini looks like the 1000km Nordschleife version I think

The 935 "J" from the link has 935/77 bodywork ( also known from the "Baby" Variant ).
The Matchbox kit has 1977 customer bodywork. Porsche did a short run of these.
Racingsportscars doesn't have pictures for all of them. Here's one: https://www.racingsportscars.com/chassi ... 00911.html
I haven't found out if that type of bodywork ever really ran in the Liqui Moly livery of the kit but most liekly not in factory team Martini colours.
