This WIP is a good advert for this kit. You are getting a great looking model!

Totally a novice too so I thank you! This is the first time I've ever added this much in terms of wiring to a kit. Plus all the pe and cf decals it's the most ambitious I've gotten for sure. True testament to the kit as to how good it is.

Looking very, very nice, Kris. In the photographs, it looks like you got a good fluro red match to the decal chevrons. Don't worry about a few specks on body -- they just add realism.

Cheers, Chris

Down to the gritty nitty!

So the rear wing was way more fiddly than I thought it should be. The problem with the metal wnd plates is that the kit is designed with a notch cut out of the main plane to help hold everything square. Aside from that minor issue everything else fit together quite well.

Then I decaled it. Another thing missing from these Tabu decals that I got are the small chevrons for the winglets. I had to use the kit supplied rectangles and cut out the triangle. One side is a little off and the red is different but they do the part. Aside from that no issues. The white kit supplied decal is very opaque so there's no pink bleed through.

I'm basically about to final assembly. The rear wing seems tricky as its so big but otherwise the other body pieces will all be removable except the small triangles by the rear suspension which I glued.

Rear wing looks good, isn't it big! Be careful on the chevron on the back of the main element, just looks like it might not be fully settled down.
This is gonna look great fastened to the car.

Yea I noticed the rear chevron peeled up a little. All has been sorted. Good catch!

So in a surprising twist the rear wing could not have gone on any easier! Plopped right onto the supports with a little glue then lined the smaller front supports up and tada! Straight and square. Nothing to this modeling thing.

I made a couple sawhorses out of leftover sprue to support the body. Threw some aluminum paint on them and will see what it looks like. Might be too thick but it's more to serve a purpose than it is to be like what they had.

Should be done by the weekend for sure.
Going to buy a large picture frame or something I think to use as the base. Not sure what pic or design I'll put inside.

Looks really good. I did the picture frame idea too. Just cut out a sheet of sandpaper to act as track. Maybe paint a grid hatching on. Very simple, cheap but looks good. Something dark will make the car stand out even more.
