Ferrari 126CK Canada 1/20 end of the race....
It's been a while since I posted my last completed project.
Well with plenty of stress at work, it was more difficult to find time for my favorite hobby. This is a build I achieved during the last days of 2014. Basically I wanted to represent Gilles Villeneuve driving its Ferrari 126CK with the broken nose on the wet...another great time of Gilles This can be seen on youtube without any problem.
I used the Fujimi kit and their PE set as a base and had to modify the wheels (Acustion + elements of a Ferrari 312T3 Tamiya rims + MFH tires) and I scratch built the front section, based on the MFH kit I still have. The front wing is made in a styrene sheet, that I heated to give the wrecked form. Not easy, I must say...
Still I want to do a circuit section and represent the wet track, this is also far from being easy. I haven't seen anything realistic on the web, but maybe I haven't search at the right places. Any idea how to do it ?
Just to complete, the figure is the usual El Oso beltless pilot with nice decals from our friend James.
I hope you will like it

Hi Jacques...
I've had my sights on a build of this incident as well.
To compliment the 1979 Dutch GP MFH puncture build I'm doing.
As you say typical Gilles.
I'm really impressed by your version it's excellent and very well done Jacques...

I've always believed that you should never, ever give up and you should always keep fighting, even when there's only a slightest chance.

Love it!
I wish I still had it but I remember Road and Tracks coverage of the '81 British g.p. had a small pic of Gilles trying to carry on after his spin into the catch fencing. The caption underneath read, "Quick, Mauro! Racers tape!" The man was not deterred!

Great Build & Figure . And very "nice" Fujimi-Gap between Sidepod halves.

Another "Cracker" Jacques ( Only folk of a certain age will get that one!!) Great rendition of a typical Gilles moment, all or nothing. All you need to build now is the "banging wheels" incident with Arnoux, that would look good.

Excellent. I love the crumpled front wing!
