Group Build Williams FW11B 1/20
Here is my (first) contribution to the new Group Build. Mods, please fell free to move it if a GB sub topic is created.
I bought the Studio 27 trans kit for the Williams FW11 by Tamiya years ago. I intend to make Mansell's car with Turbo intake periscopes and the blue and white ICI logo. Haven't decided whether to make it curbside or detail the engine yet. Have started by removing the nose and checking the fit of the resin nose cone. It fits well. Still at the planning stages yet so not much more physical progress. Will have to see how I carry on juggling this build with my McLaren WIP but I am happy to be finally building this kit.

Re: Group Build Williams FW11B 1/20
Good progress tonight! My Williams is moving on. The nose is removed to allow for the better resin nose and it allows me to slip the lower wishbone in from the front after painting and the upper wishbone assembly has been cut apart to allow it to be drilled and pinned for assembly after painting of the chassis. This allows me to attach the panels that go between the suspension arms without worrying about the wishbones and therefore letting me flush and fill the panels prior to painting.
I am also playing around with trying to make the internal radiator ducting from pasticard and working out the rest of the detailing.
Thanks for reading.

Looking good. How old is the transkit you have?

Bought it from the first Goodwood FoS I attended back in '99.
