1/32 Surtees TS16/03

Post by Orso »

Not sure where to put a 1/32 scale car but I finished this one.

Silverstone 1974. The decals had yellowed a bit but it was not the clear coat as I would have thought, it was the white that was affected.
As the only white needed was the FINA on the nose one might make new black decals on a Laser printer but I opted for the kit decals.

Very nice! Cool build if what was, at the time, a pocket-change kit!

That sure brings back some memories...my first ever car kit. I'd built a stack of Matchbox aircraft and was drawn by a "racing car" kit. I had no idea who Surtees were, or who drove it, but if Matchbox made it (and sponsored it!), it was good enough for me.
You have done a much nicer job with the kit than I did!
This Way Up do a 1/43 version which has found it's way into my stash so that will be the closest I get to building this kit again.
Lovely work!

As I said in your other thread Orso, I've just bought one of these myself having been chasing one for a while! Looking forward to doing what is a fairly unusual kit really, and you've done a great job on yours!

Will come in very useful as a reference for when I get round to mine! :D

Wow that was quick work. Like Tania mentioned, it brings back some memories. I don't remember the tyres looking so square though... I must be getting old, I'm forgetting stuff

If you're not happy with the tyres Björn, try some slot car tyres (can be bought as spares!) from companies like FlySlot.

Cheers,
T
