Your work over the past two months is amazing, Jean-Paul. All the custom parts that you hand made, and the excellent fitment. Hats off!

And now the decals look great too! This project just fills me with admiration!

Thanks guys!!!!

I sprayed the body with a semi gloss varnish. Inner surfaces of the body are matt black painted. Side radiators are glued. Mesh of the engine cover are those provided by ace. The original front radiator was too small, so I made a custom one. I vacuformed the windshield and 5 archer rivets are added at the base.

This is a really cool looking car. I guess I must have forgotten it somehow. Don't remember ever seeing it before. Did it run like this the entire season? Where did you get the lion decal? This livery is probably only second on my favorite animal car to the Jordan snake car! You did a massive amount of work to make it look so nice. Good job!

Hi Jean-Paul,
I'd love to see some more photo's of the body with the semi-gloss on it. Maybe I need to be more patient and wait until you're finished  . From your first shot we're none the wiser which is an excellent result.
Cheers,
Terry

Hi Jean-Paul

Outstanding work with the decals - must have been very difficult to get the lions head area to conform to all the curved surfaces. Could you provide more info about how to vac-formed windscreens?

Cheers, Paul

I don't believe that it ran all the season. The decal came directly with the specific kit (Ace made several DN9B kit with various liveries). You can still find spare decal sheets at macsmodeling.

Hi Paul,
Not so difficult to get conformed the lion's head because ACE divided the decal into multiple parts. Have a look at the decal sheet below and you will easily imagine the process. Note that Ace gives two sets of lions !

My vacu-form hability comes from a toy of the 60's: The Mattel Vac-U-Form !!!!

My machine was upgraded by an ebayer named isthatlegal

With this machine, the hardest part of the work is to create the master, you can't fail during the vacuforming operation ! I really use it offently, specialy to get good windows for my old Provence Moulage kits!
I will tell more about it with my next kit in this GB: the fittipaldi F6 !
