Thank you, Terry! Constructor years would make sense...I blew up the pic from USGP and got pretty much the same result.
Then again, the laurels on the rear wing were produced by the tobacco company not Lotus, I hear. Years vs WC72, still up to debate :)

I might have to watch '73 Lotus film "if you are winning you are not trying" again. I have pulled some screen shots to help me with this project before.

First of March is our local show and it's safe to say I won't be bringing this (not that the build quality would be show worthy anyways). On top of everything I'm workin through out the weekend and then travelling better part of next week...phew.

Back from the cupboard :).The only way to get around the whacky stance of the finished chassis is to mount it on uneven surface...wheels and wings are just mocked-up. It will look good when finished but most of you propably can see the rather fictious plumbing and few short cuts here and there taken out ouf pure frustration.

Great work on the 72E!! Not sure what you're talking about cutting corners, as the finish and attention to detail is fantastic. Still impressed at your work to truly create a specific car down to the rust-prevention coating.
Cheers,
Chris

Fence needs weathering...should have made the distance between track and and the barrier larger but hey, there's always next time. One the best thing with modeling.
The car itself needs a few things added and figures/accessories painting. Tamiya motosports team set is pretty terrible on the figure front, I wish I had some skill to tackle expressions. Might have to change postures a bit, that shouldn't be to hard.

Yes, nice build, Tommy! Lots of cool weathering, and a diorama to boot!

Nearing completion...few things to tidy up. Hair on the figures needs more attention and I may add a few "props" to cover up some ugly stuff :).

The scene is set at the morning of Saturday 22nd. of September 1973 at Bowmanville, ON. I found some old weather reports that suggested the morning was relatively dry compared to the actual race.

Lotus 72 itself has lots of inaccuracies. Mostly the fuel management system and oil lines are fictional...well, the fuel management happened a few years later, I've been told :). That's tea price you pay for using restored vehicles as reference.

Need to dust things before a show...
