Orso's Grand Build GB-plan

Post by Orso »

So I've made test runs with the Williams FW07 and now a qualifying session with the Tyrrell 009 but it doesn't run as well as hoped so I will have to revert to a Tyrrell 008 for the GB.
I could of course change team to get a newer car but I've decided to stay with Tyrrell.

Better to stick with the team you know than suddenly get a new drive, although if you take your race engineer with you it'll be easier to transition.

With the talk of a new GB I thought that I should check on what I had planned. I thought that it would be Lotus 79 but to my surprise it just says Tyrrell 008.
The funny thing is the final sentence I wrote "stay with Tyrrell". Of the six cars I finished four were Tyrrell's. The 008 and three P34. I had no plans for the P34 back then at least none of the three I built. I had some vague interest of restarting on my 1977 British GP P34 but that didn't happen.
