I think Jake has a good point (and it's not just because I also want to build the 1970 Walker Lotus :lol: ).

According to the internet (actually Wikipedia), which we all know is always 100% correct:

"The 1970s, pronounced "the Nineteen Seventies", refers to a decade within the Gregorian calendar that began on January 1, 1970, and ended on December 31, 1979."

And, About.com includes 1970 in the "1970s", noting the following historic milestones:

Aswan High Dam Completed
Beatles Break Up
Computer Floppy Disks Introduced
Palestinian Group Hijacks Five Planes
Kent State Shootings
Greg Van Hook Graduates from High School and has a Very Low Draft Number

I added that last one :D but it sure seems like 1970 was in the 1970s to me!
