Mr Finishing Surfacer 1500 black

Post by Shunter »

Hello all,
I hope everyone has enjoyed their Xmas festivities so far.

My question is, has anyone applied decals onto the Mr Surfacer black 1500 before? If so how did it?

The finish has come up so well and is so smooth it’s almost a shame to put a clear or another finish over it..

I use the bottled version a lot, I cannot understand what is really different from this than a flat base coat so I don:t understand why decals would not work fine, I have never tried though. I actually by lots of mr surfaces primer and just pour a bunch of their leveling thinner in the jar so it is premixed and have it ready to go through the airbrush. I love the stuff.

I really wanted to get the bottle version but stock is out due to Covid delivery issues. I have to admit the can sprayed well.

But mainly used as a primer, but depending on the decals and surface flat finished just might cause silvering of the decals
only way to find out is to try it

Well the decal went down well in a test, no silvering but unfortunately it would not adhere to the surface that well.
