Studio27 offers a set of cf-decals specially designed for this car. It has the advantage you don't have to do templates yourself and that's going to save you quite some time. I have used their Leyton House CG901B and for me it worked fine.
Thanks. I bought the Studio27 Carbon decal set for the 1/20 MP4/4 from Hobby Easy yesterday. My question was more generally CF decal sheets that are not templated (I should have added that...). I will give the Scale Motorsport and the Tamiya (12680 and 12682 Extra Fine) decals a try. It's just a bit confusing as to which Scale Motor Sport weave/series would be most appropriate, as there are quite a number on the website. This is for any 1/20 post 1980 car - e.g. FW13B I have in my stash. Back to the references I guess.

One more question. What do you use for a base coat under the carbon decals? I have read that with some CF decals, the visibility of the weave pattern can be negatively impacted by the base colour.

Gloss Black. Always. Adhesion is key there to avoid problems later down the line w masking, clear coats, etc...

The Studio27 decals are nice as long as you don`t plan to do changes to the kit, they also offer all the different types of patterns which yoou don`t have by a single sheet. Yes they are not cheap, but when doing an OOB build they are pretty nice.
A tiny tip when buying cf decals is, go down with the scale cause the patterns are quiet often too big for scale. That means when doing a 1:20 kit, choose 1:24 decals, they often are more to scale then the ones in 1:20. ;)
Take a stand!

Just a general practice, never put decals on matt surface. The decal will silver or even peel off as the rough matt surface will not provide a good surface for the glue to pull the decal down.

For military models, tanks, aircraft, etc, we have to put a gloss clear coat at least on areas for decals. Sometime the whole model is gloss clear coated. Decals are put on and then flat clear coat the whole model again to prevent silvering of decals.

I use diluted clear acrylic as glue as some decal sheets' glue is not that good. This is especially required for older (10yrs or more) decals.
