1/20 F1 Goodyear Eagle tires without side moulds?
I have the Tamiya 1/20 McLaren MP4/4 in the stash I'm thinking of building. Not particularly keen on the tires. I was looking at the MFH aftermarket tires, but they all seem to have the side moulds.
Is there anything else available without the side moulds? I was thinking of using a template and jig (MFH) to do the stencilling.

Slicks or Wets, it doesn't matter.

What do you mean with side moulds?
This are the original MP4/4 tires... there are no side markings.

I´m wondering too about side moulds, inly the older kits have an engraved lettering on the side walls, but this one not.
Rain tires??
Maybe....

Sorry OP, I also do not quite know what you mean
You can get resin replacement tires here:
https://www.iconautomotiveminiatures.com/shop
I have not yet tried them, but the shop owner is on this forum, and can probably introduce himself

Read it again. He say that he don't like the original tires and want replacements but the MFH tires has the Good Year text moulded on the sides which not are preferred.
In the 1970's had the text moulded and sometimes mismatched painting of the text but I don't know how it was with the Eagle tires..

OK Björn, I think you're right and I just didn't get it.Orso wrote: ↑Tue Dec 14, 2021 9:47 am Read it again. He say that he don't like the original tires and want replacements but the MFH tires has the Good Year text moulded on the sides which not are preferred.

But then there would be a replacement with the tires from Iconautomotiveminiatures.

I also "hate" Beemax's & Nunu's MP4's Tyres for They are clearly Michelins and correct for MP4/2, but not for b & c Versions. Tyres have moulded Lines on sides also. How to attach Tamiya-like Goodies'-stickers on Them?

Re: 1/20 F1 Goodyear Eagle tires without side moulds?
Hi all
Thanks for the replies.
Yes, I was referring to the MFH tires with the incorrect moulded detail on the tyre walls. They should be smooth.
The kit tyres are OK, but I have several MFH 1/20 and tyres are much nicer.
The Iconautomotiveminiatures Wets look good, I may order a set.
Thanks,
Peter
