Ebbro Lotus 33?
Frank Loesser did On A Slow Boat To China but the Ebbro Lotus 33 seems to have taken the very slow boat from Japan.
Has any kits reached European shops yet? I started to look elsewhere and notice the HLJ and Hobbysearch Japan are sold out.

Almost finished now. A little sanding and polishing after the Clear is dry.
But I have to say: for a kit designed in 2021 it is really dissapointing.
There are a lot of fitting issues and some major mistakes in the planning of the kit and the instructions.
First of all, the sidepanels have a huge gap to the monocoque.
The reason is pretty simple, while the original Lotus 25 panels where slightly curved from front to back,
the 33 panels are completely straight. No Chance that these two parts fit to the same Chassis.
Next: The engine cover has two pins to attach it to the cockpit fairing.
The Instruction tells you to attach it from behind. Thats simply not possible, so you have to attach it from above.
That works, until you attach the windshield. The windshield fixes the engine cover completely. No chance to get it on or off again.
So the only way is to get rid of these pins.
In step 8, the instruction tells you to attach part D1. Thats wrong. Part D1 should not be used with the 33.
And here is the biggest mistake, the exhaust.
In the instruction you can see how the exhaust parts are glued together.
The first exhaust pipe sits above the other three.
If you do that the pipe will collide with the suspension part. So no chance to get the suspension in place correctly.
Even Ebbro itself knows that and if you take a look to the box you can see how they attached the exhaust.
And thats the only way it works. The intruction is just wrong.
So guys, there you have it. A pretty bad kit with a lot of mistakes.
Be careful when you build this.
I hope I can help you with this little report.
Cheers Bernhard

Re: Ebbro Lotus 33?
... Ebbro's 1/20 kits have always convinced me a little .... And this explanation (documented) by Bernhard, make my "quotes" go down even more about it ....
Thanks for the clear explanation of the main problems on the kit

Re: Ebbro Lotus 33?
The problem is that the only new F1 releases in plastic that has been interesting has come from Ebbro
